The Scottish Rite in Hawaii recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 150th year anniversary, also known as its sesquicentennial. The commemoration was a momentous occasion attended by members of Hawaii’s Royal Orders, who joined in honoring the Scottish Rite’s founders in Hawaii, His Majesty King Kalakaua and Prince Consort John Dominis. Among the distinguished guests were Illustrious Andrew L. Geiser 33º, Sovereign Grand Inspector General of Hawaii & Guam, and Illustrious Arturo de Hoyos 33º Grand Cross, Grand Historian and Grand Archivist of the Supreme Council 33º, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction. The celebration was rich with various talks on the history of the orient’s different valleys and the broader history of Masonry, accompanied by a delectable Hawaiian-style catered dinner. It was a joyous occasion filled with reflection, appreciation, and camaraderie, highlighting the enduring legacy of the Scottish Rite in Hawaii.
