Who are the Knights of Saint Andrew?

The Knights of St. Andrew is a valley organization comprised of 32° Scottish Rite Freemasons. This distinguished group operates as a service-oriented body dedicated to serving all members of their Consistory. They function under the oversight of S.G.I.S.’s designated official and provide critical support to all of the committees of the Valley, assist at events when needed, and promote active membership in the Valley.

Their duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to assisting the Tylers, extending warm greetings to visitors, providing escort services for dignitaries and special events, acting as guides, contributing to the Scottish degree work, and participating in flag presentations. Knights of St. Andrew also supports calling committees, participating in parades and civic engagements, promoting fundraising initiatives, and contributing to the success of various special events. This list continues to evolve as new ideas and concepts are developed to meet the changing needs and objectives of the organization.

The Knights of St. Andrew are highly regarded for their adaptability and unwavering enthusiasm, making them one of the most active and sought-after organizations within the Valley. It serves as an excellent platform for nurturing and cultivating future leaders, allowing them to hone their organizational and leadership skills, explore the inner workings of their Scottish Rite Centers, and develop a profound appreciation for our Order and the brethren who collectively contribute to the rich tapestry of Freemasonry.

The inaugural chapter of the Knights of St. Andrew in Honolulu was established under the leadership of Illustrious Ronald Seale, who held the esteemed position of Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council during that period. His visit to Hawaii in 2010 was purposeful, as he arrived with the intention of officially chartering this organization in Hawaii. Since its inception more than a decade ago, the Knights of St. Andrew has undergone several recharterings. These strategic recharterings have been instrumental in refining the chapter’s mission and objectives, aligning them more effectively with the goals and purpose of the Valley of Honolulu.

The 29th Degree, Knight of St. Andrew

The 29th Degree, Knight of St. Andrew, transitions from the 28th Degree to the 30th Degree. Within this transition are found many lessons, teaching us reverence and obedience to the Deity, the service of Truth, the practice of Virtue and Innocence, and also, to battle for Truth and Right, Free Speech, and Free Thought; and in this to defend the people against tyranny. The Scottish Knight of Saint Andrew takes these lessons to heart, and thus, the qualities of Charity, Clemency, and Generosity prevail, all brought about by Humanity, Patience, and Self-Denial. As Scottish Knights of Saint Andrew, we find Honor and Chivalry in this position. The Knights of Saint Andrew are designed to place these lessons into action.
